DJ ML, from London.

I originally got into the Hardcore scene through listening to London pirate radio stations, over 16 years ago back in mid 1992, particularly the legendary Pulse 90.6 fm and also Unity fm, Impact fm, Eruption fm and Chillin fm.

Pulse fm really got me into the whole scene, I used to tune in at every available moment back in 92/93/94 and from then on
I was hooked into the underground sound.

I would like to take this opportunity to say Maximum respect to all the old Pulse fm cru, probably the best Pirate radio station ever IMO. My early raving experiences in 93/94 were at Labrynth, Bagleys and Crystal Palace national sports centre. Rude fm was also a big inspiration for me back in 96/97 re invigorating my enthusiasm for Drum n Bass.

I have been mixing / djing for about 12 years on and off, starting on soundlab belt drive decks before progressing onto Technics SL1210s. Over the past 5 years I have played on three studio based internet radio stations in London. I have played at a few clubs in London over the past 3 years, most notably djing for Technicality at Club Herbal in July 05, Dec 05 and March 06. Also djing at an event I co ran called “A Made up sound” at Public Life club in Jan 06, Feb 06, March 06.

I play a range of music from 1992 hardcore through to 2008 drum and bass, with a lot of drum and bass in between, also a bit of hardcore and some other styles too
(jazz, funk, soulful/deep house). My style of old school hardcore/drum and bass that I play, is one with the emphasis on the on the beats, breaks, bass, strings, pads and keys. Whether the tune is new or old as long as it is a quality tune I will play it. Basically I just play the music I like. 1993/94 Hardcore/Jungle/darkside/early drum and bass is probably my favourite style/era.
