Champion Puffa, Co-Founder of Renegade Radio 107.2FM along with my better half Livvy. Love all styles of dance music and to be honest there isn’t much music I don’t like, love a bit of controversy, love a rant, love a rush, a giggle and love to help people do what they love on the radio.
** Why did you become a DJ ?

I got sick of listening to crap mix tapes and buying compilation cds that had hardly any great tunes on so wanted to make my own mixes and playlists.
** So why the given DJ Name ?

From 1991 I was The Duke. It got to 2003, I started a new life, the duke was dead, and as a salute to my favorite Dj/Mc team the Rat Pack, I took the name Champion Puffa. Nothing to do with smoking drugs at all.
** Please tell me something about your Mixing Style/Genre ?

Anything played from 1987 to brand new production, always off the cuff sets with no planning as it should be in my opinion, play what’s asked for, what is being felt, and what’s buzzing.
** What equipment you're using now ?

Stanton STR8.150, DJX700 mixer, Serato Scratch SL1
** Who was or is your big example ?

The Original Cyndicut 100.4FM Crew, DJ DAZ (undercover agent) without a doubt is the reason I got into the rave scene, but also Embee, M.A.Double T, Rhythm, Jess, Philly K and stations like Dance Zone FM, Unity, Pulse, Pressure & Kool.
** Do you still have the ambition to break through ?

Genre Name Tags!! Nu / Future / Blah Blah Blah!! No wonder the new smaller genres only last 2 years... no-one can keep up or knopws whats what genre anymore.
